Chennai: A 30-year-old man was killed and 12 others injured when their tractor collided with a private company van near Kancheepuram on Thursday morning.The accident occurred around 7.40 am on the Kancheepuram-Arakkonam Road. Daily wage labourers in the tractor were heading to Parandur where they had been hired for compound fencing work.When the vehicles collided, B Venkatesan, a resident of Melsirunai village, was thrown from the tractor. A trailer attached to the vehicle ran over his right thigh, causing grievous injuries. He died on the spot.Twelve others who sustained minor injuries were taken to Kancheepuram Govt Hospital. A case has been registered and investigation is under way.
