Kanpur: Police solved the murder of a farmhouse caretaker in Singhpur, Bithoor and recovered the murder weapon on Tuesday.The police laid a cordon on the stretch from Pratapur Hari turn to Singhpur on the basis of a tip-off and arrested the accused Vijay Singh Chauhan (26).The victim, Phoolchandra Yadav, 58, was a native of Ayodhya and worked as a caretaker at Keshav Vatika farmhouse for about 22 to 25 years. On Aug 8, a murder case against an unknown person was registered at Bithoor police station on the complaint of his wife Jasomati.Police initiated an investigation on the basis of CCTV cameras installed around the farm house, evidence found at the scene, and other points. During the investigation, police got important clues about the accused.DCP West SM Qasim Abidi said that on Tuesday the police team laid a cordon on the road from Pratapur Hari turn to Singhpur. “The accused was caught as soon as police saw him. After questioning, police recovered the heavy object used as the murder weapon,” the DCP added.
