Dhubri: One person was charred to death after an oil tanker caught fire on NH-27 at Kachugaon under Gossaigaon sub-division in Assam’s Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.A witness said the tanker burst with a loud sound and caught fire. Police and firefighters from Kachugaon and Gossaigaon rushed to the spot along with an SDRF team after being informed. Locals said the tanker was already ablaze by the time responders arrived, leaving them with little option beyond preventing the fire from spreading.
Kokrajhar SP Akshat Garg confirmed that a charred body was recovered from the site.
