Hazaribag: In the wake of over half a dozen human fatalities in Hazaribag due to elephant attacks last week, the local forest department has decided to conduct scientific study of the behaviour of jumbos. A team of five ethologists from Odisha on Monday reached Hazaribag and headed to Churchu forest to begin assessment. However, they did not find the herd today.

According to forest officials, the expert team will conduct an in-depth study of the behaviour of elephants in the natural environment, their daily habits, reasons for aggression and the social structure of the herd.
