Bhubaneswar: Three Odisha-based startups showcased their innovations at an exclusive exhibition hosted at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday, earning national recognition for the state’s growing startup ecosystem under the aegis of Startup Odisha. The founders of GARGI Automated & Robotic Gadget Industries Pvt Ltd, Newrup Tech Solutions, and Urban-Hyphae Bioscience interacted with President Droupadi Murmu during the exhibition. The startups were among innovators from across the country selected under the Atal Innovation Mission for the national-level event.Among the participating startups, GARGI Automated & Robotic Gadget Industries, founded by Shital Zemane, showcased assistive technology solutions designed for persons with physical disabilities. Its innovations include transformable bed-chairs and exoskeleton technologies aimed at improving mobility, accessibility and independent living.Newrup Tech Solutions, led by Anup Paikaray, presented CHULIV, a clean-cooking solution developed to reduce indoor air pollution while improving fuel efficiency. The innovation seeks to make traditional cooking practices safer, healthier and more sustainable.Meanwhile, Urban-Hyphae Bioscience, founded by Adhiraj Mohapatra, displayed its mushroom-based leather alternative made from agricultural waste. The startup’s eco-friendly solution promotes a circular economy and offers a sustainable, cruelty-free alternative for the fashion and materials sectors.Congratulating the entrepreneurs, MSME and Fisheries & Animal Resources Development minister of the state Gokulananda Mallik said the recognition reflected the state’s growing contribution to India’s grassroots innovation ecosystem. “This recognition of Odisha startups on the national stage is not only a celebration of their individual excellence but also a reflection of the state’s growing potential in grassroots innovation,” he said.MSME department commissioner-cum-secretary Rashmita Panda said the Odisha Startup Policy has played a key role in nurturing young innovators and helping homegrown ventures gain national visibility. “Time and again, next-generation startups from Odisha are winning the national spotlight with their indigenous ideas and global outlook,” she said.Startup Odisha CEO Smrutiranjan Pradhan said the state govt is fostering a conducive environment for youth and women entrepreneurs through incubation support, grants and market-linkage opportunities.
