Odisha man stabbed to death in Raidurgam, accused at large

Hyderabad: A 44-year-old man was allegedly murdered by a cook in Anjaiah Nagar, Raidurgam, on Thursday night following an argument. Both the victim and the accused are natives of Odisha.The victim, Shashidhar Raj (44), was stabbed to death. He and his wife worked as caretakers at a local hostel. The accused, Pramod Kumar, also from Odisha, had joined a nearby hostel as a cook five days ago.“The accused knew the victim, and they were once close friends. However, their relationship had deteriorated over the past few months, and they were no longer on speaking terms. The accused recently joined a hostel close to where the victim was staying, raising suspicion that he may have been monitoring the victim’s movements,” Raidurgam inspector T Bhupathi said.Police said the accused went to the victim’s hostel around 10.20 pm and allegedly attacked him with a knife before fleeing the scene.“The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. Until we apprehend Pramod, we will not know the exact motive,” the inspector said.
