Koraput: A day after extensive searches at seven locations linked to Odisha Construction Corporation (OCC) executive engineer Sanjay Kumar Kispatta, Odisha vigilance on Tuesday arrested the officer. Kispatta on deputation to the Lower Suktel Project in Balangir, was produced before the special judge, vigilance, Jeypore, who remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.According to vigilance, Kispatta was found in possession of two multi-storey buildings, including an 8,000 sq ft commercial lodge with 23 rooms equipped with amenities comparable to a three-star hotel, besides an under-construction residential house. The agency detected nine high-value plots, deposits worth Rs 46.09 lakh, Rs 1.16 lakh in cash, 325.562g of gold ornaments, 1.121 kg of silver, two four-wheelers and other assets, which the officer failed to explain satisfactorily during the investigation. He has been produced in court, said SP, vigilance, S Sushree.Kispatta joined govt service in 2011 as an assistant engineer in the water resources department on a consolidated monthly salary of Rs 9,300. He was promoted as executive engineer in March.
