Gurgaon: A 33-year-old woman, who worked as nursing staff at a private hospital in the city, died by suicide at her residence in Jharsa on Tuesday. Police suspect mental distress as a possible reason.The deceased was identified as Anuradha Chauhan of Ghaziabad in UP. She worked at Medanta Hospital and had shifted to Gurgaon around three months ago with her husband and their one-year-old son. The couple had been married for two years and lived in a rented accommodation. Police said Anuradha was alone at home at the time of the incident. When her husband returned, he found her hanging inside the house and immediately alerted the police. A team reached the spot and initiated proceedings.No suicide note was recovered during the search. Police said there were no visible signs of foul play. Statements of family members and neighbours were recorded as part of the investigation.An officer said the parents of the deceased informed police that Anuradha had been suffering from depression for a long time and did not suspect any foul play. No complaint has been filed in the matter. The body was sent for autopsy and later handed over to the family. Police said the autopsy report will be examined along with other evidence to complete the inquiry. Proceedings under Section 194 (inquest) of BNSS have been initiated.
