GURGAON: A woman has accused a maulvi and four others of holding her captive for nearly a month and gang-raping her after allegedly luring her on the pretext of treating her child, whom they claimed was under the influence of supernatural elements, in Nuh district.The accused also allegedly circulated her obscene photos and videos on social media and threatened to kill her child if she disclosed the ordeal.Based on the woman’s complaint, Sadar Tauru police have registered a case against five named accused, including a maulvi, two men and two women, and launched an investigation.According to the complaint, the woman visited a maulvi in Mathepur village of Palwal district on May 22 seeking treatment for her child. She alleged that the maulvi claimed the child was under the influence of “evil spirits” and asked her to return the following day to his residence in Khori village in Tauru for a special ritual.“When she reached the location, she was told that the treatment would begin only after sunset. During this time, she was given a beverage, after consuming which she lost consciousness,” a police officer said.The woman alleged that when she regained consciousness, she found herself locked inside a room where the maulvi and the other accused sexually assaulted her. She claimed she was held hostage and repeatedly raped while being threatened that her child would be killed if she resisted or informed anyone.The complainant further alleged that the accused took her to different locations during her captivity, broke her SIM card, and prevented her from contacting her family members. She said she managed to escape with her child on the night of June 23 and returned home, where she narrated the incident to her family.She later underwent a medical examination, which confirmed that she was pregnant. The woman has also alleged that the accused circulated her obscene photographs and videos on social media and have continued to threaten her.Following the complaint, Nuh Superintendent of Police Dr Arpit Jain directed Sadar Tauru police to register an FIR against the five accused.A police officer said, “A case has been registered, and the allegations are being investigated from all angles.”The officer added that further legal action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
