Bhagalpur: NTPC Kahalgaon has tied up with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) to provide job-oriented vocational and skill development training to unemployed youths and project-affected families in Bhagalpur district.An MoA was signed by NTPC and CIPET officials at Bhagalpur on Saturday evening. Under the initiative, 80 youths from villages in Kahalgaon sub-division will receive placement-linked training in plastic processing, plastic recycling and machine operations. The beneficiaries will be selected from areas near the NTPC project.Ravindra Sharma, project head, NTPC Kahalgaon, said the initiative aims to provide practical and employable skills to local youths, particularly those from project-affected families and help them secure better employment opportunities in various industries.“The initiative is also an important step towards connecting youth with sustainable employment and livelihood opportunities and empowering them to become self-reliant besides connecting with local populace and bringing social reforms,” Sharma added.Talking to this newspaper on Sunday, NTPC Kahalgaon PRO Priya said the initiative demonstrated the organisation’s commitment to the socio-economic development of the local community while preparing local youths for skill-based employment.The MoA was signed in the presence of Manoranjan Sarangi, additional general manager (human resources), NTPC Kahalgaon, and CIPET officials.
