Lucknow: A local journalist, Dhruv Narayan Pandey, was injured after banned nylon manjha got entangled around his neck while he was riding a motorcycle near Pakri Ka Pul in the Alambagh area on Friday. He sustained a deep cut to his throat and was rushed to hospital, police said. This was the 10th such incident in a span of 10 days after the death of Md Shoaib in Bazarkhala brought the matter to light. On Feb 12, an MDS student was also injured near Hanneman Crossing. According to preliminary information, Pandey was travelling on his two-wheeler when a loose nylon kite string, allegedly banned manjha, hanging across the road or flying in the air, suddenly wrapped around his neck. The incident occurred so abruptly that he had no time to react, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and suffer injuries. Passers-by immediately came to his rescue and shifted him to the emergency department of Civil Hospital, where he received five stitches. He is said to be stable.
