Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, October 10, 2026: Dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon Dr Mir Shahnawaz has received the REACH Research Award in Saudi Arabia for his research on exosome-containing formulations in male pattern baldness.

The award was conferred by Dr Shadi Zari, President of REACH Academy, under the REACH Research Awards on Regenerative Hair Restoration and Regenerative Aesthetics. The honour was accompanied by a research prize of SAR 10,000.

Dr Shahnawaz’s study compared an exosome-containing formulation with autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in men with androgenetic alopecia, commonly known as male pattern baldness. His work contributes comparative clinical evidence to an emerging area of regenerative medicine, examining how newer formulations perform alongside established approaches to hair restoration.

Dr Shahnawaz is the founder of Dermis Skin, Laser & Hair Transplant Clinic in Bemina, Srinagar. Alongside providing dermatology, laser and hair restoration services, he continues to pursue research that addresses questions relevant to everyday clinical practice.

The international recognition marks a meaningful milestone in his research journey and a proud moment for Kashmir’s medical community. It also highlights the contribution of Indian clinicians to global scientific discussions on regenerative medicine.

From Srinagar to the international research stage, this achievement reflects Dr Shahnawaz’s continuing commitment to advancing hair restoration through clinical inquiry and evidence-based practice.
