Srinagar, Sep 17: Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma has commended the White Knight Corps for its swift and professional action in neutralising two terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lt Gen Sharma praised the troops for their “swift, precise and professional action” during Operation Sohan, saying the successful operation highlighted the effectiveness of coordinated counter-terrorism efforts.
An army spokesperson said that the operation was conducted in close coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), reflecting seamless inter-agency cooperation within the counter-terrorism grid.
The Northern Command said the operation once again underscored the strength of joint coordination among security forces in tackling the threat of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Northern Command reiterated its resolve to ensure a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir.
Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited the Surankote sector to review the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations, officials said.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on ongoing operations, including sustained efforts to carry out focused targeting of terrorists, strengthen the joint intelligence framework and enhance coordination with sister security agencies.
Lt Gen Sharma also interacted with troops deployed in the sector and reviewed their operational preparedness.
He commended the troops for their professionalism in conducting operations under challenging terrain and weather conditions, and lauded their commitment to maintaining security in the area.
The interaction with the troops also served to boost their morale, the Army said.
