Mumbai: The 47th metropolitan magistrate court has issued a non-bailable warrant against former Religare Enterprises chairperson Rashmi Saluja after she repeatedly failed to appear in connection with alleged irregularities in the allotment of employee stock options (ESOPs) at Care Health Insurance Ltd.The case stems from an economic offences wing chargesheet against Saluja and 3 others—former Religare finance chief Nitin Aggarwal, ex-group general counsel Nishant Singhal, and a Mumbai-based office assistant Vaibhav Gawli. The allegations relate to irregular ESOP allotments at the insurance subsidiary during a period marked by a corporate control battle between Religare’s then management and the Burman family. Saluja had challenged the EOW FIR before the Bombay high court, terming the case “mala fide and flawed”. The court though directed her to appear before the trial court, observing she could not seek to proceed at her own convenience. Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Abhijit Solapure said despite cognisance of the offence in Aug 2025, Saluja repeatedly failed to appear before the court.
