NOIDA: Noida police arrested a 22-year-old man on Friday for allegedly hitting the motorcycle of a salesman with his Thar and dragging him for more than five kilometres in the Dadri bypass area, police said. Police said the accused tried to escape after filling diesel without making payment.Police identified the accused as Harsh, a resident of Bulandshahr.RK Gautam, ADCP of Central Noida, said the accused came to his uncle’s house in Dujana village. Around 6.30 pm on Friday, he reached a petrol pump near NTPC cut in the Badalpur area without a number plate.“The accused asked the salesman Kuldeep Sharma to fill the tank. Harsh told the salesman that he would pay online. But once the tank was full and Kuldeep went to get a scanner machine, Harsh started his vehicle and fled from the petrol pump. Kuldeep started chasing him on the motorcycle,” he said.A senior police officer said that on Dadri Bypass, when the salesman tried to stop the Thar, Harsh did not stop the vehicle and salesman Kuldeep collided with the vehicle and he fell on the road. The officer said the accused dragged the motorcycle for five kilometres after the bike got stuck in the Thar. Sharma was admitted to a private hospital where his treatment was underway and he was currently stable.The ADCP said that after receiving information about the incident, the Badalpur police team surrounded the area and Harsh was arrested an hour after the incident. The vehicle was also seized by police.
