Noida: A project engineer suspended in 2012 in connection with the Yadav Singh case has been reinstated in the Noida Authority following directions from the Allahabad High Court. Ramendra Singh had argued he remained under suspension for over a decade without charges being filed. The court ordered his reinstatement while allowing the authority to continue its internal inquiry into the case.Noida additional CEO Vandana Tripathi confirmed Singh’s reinstatement, adding, “The file will be sent to the state govt, while the internal probe against him will continue.”Yadav Singh is a former chief engineer of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities who was accused of taking bribes. He was suspended in 2012 and subsequently arrested. He is currently out on bail.According to a chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation, Singh awarded contracts worth over Rs 92 crore in Dec 2011 for laying underground cables at two locations in Noida to three firms – JSP Constructions, NKG Infrastructure and Tirupati Constructions. Yadav Singh allegedly received bribes during this project which were routed as investments through his wife.The chargesheet in the case had named Ramendra Singh along with other officials, and investigation into the matter is ongoing.
