Noida: Traffic police have restricted heavy, medium and light goods vehicles from entering Delhi from the district until Sept 13 for the BRICS summit. Vehicles from the Chilla, DND and Kalindi Kunj borders will be diverted to Noida Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). Vehicles heading from the Yamuna Expressway and Pari Chowk toward Delhi will be routed via P-3, Kasna and Sirsa. Emergency medical and fire-service vehicles are exempt from the restrictions.Vehicles approaching Delhi through the Chilla border will have to take a U-turn from the Chilla red light to travel toward their destinations via Noida Expressway and EPE. Those reaching the DND border will be diverted back from the DND toll plaza and will have to join the EPE via Noida Expressway. At the Kalindi Kunj-Yamuna border, vehicles heading into Delhi will be diverted at the underpass intersection before the Yamuna river. They will then proceed through Noida Expressway and the EPE.The restrictions will also affect traffic approaching Delhi from the Yamuna Expressway. Vehicles travelling from the Yamuna Expressway toward Delhi via Noida Expressway will be diverted at Zero Point and routed through Pari Chowk, P-3, Kasna and Sirsa before joining the EPE.Vehicles coming from Pari Chowk through Noida Expressway will be diverted toward P-3, Kasna and Sirsa and then directed to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.Another alternative for commuters coming from the Yamuna Expressway and going toward Delhi is to take the Falaida cut and Rabupura service road, proceed through Galgotia and Gautam Buddh University, and then take the route via Pusta Tiraha, Honda CL Chowk and Kasna town to reach the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.Traffic police said emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire-service vehicles, would be allowed to pass safely during the diversions.Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes and avoid unnecessary travel toward Delhi during the restriction period.
