Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister V D Satheesan Wednesday rejected allegations that the govt was delaying action on the inquiry against senior IPS officer M R Ajith Kumar to facilitate his promotion, asserting that the probe was being processed without delay.Addressing the post-cabinet media briefing, Satheesan said the inquiry report had reached the state police chief only last week and would be examined before being forwarded to the home department for the govt’s decision. He also dismissed claims that the govt was protecting the officer.Meanwhile, it is learnt that the state police chief has already forwarded the report to additional chief secretary (home and vigilance) Minhaj Alam. After departmental scrutiny, it will be placed before home minister Ramesh Chennithala.
