Pune: State cabinet minister Shambhuraj Desai on Friday said there had been no misappropriation of flats or transfer of development rights (TDR) based on fraudulent beneficiaries in the Kothrud slum rehabilitation authority (SRA) project.Desai was replying to a query by MLA of the Pune Cantonment constituency Sunil Kamble in the state assembly. Kamble alleged fraudulent TDR and fake beneficiaries being listed for the SRA project in Kothrud. The latter said there should be an inquiry into additional TDR being wrongly given in the scheme.Kamble said dubious electricity bills, ration cards and other documents in the names of bogus beneficiaries had been generated. These were used to include fake people in the project and get homes allotted. “It has also come to notice that additional TDR, an increased free-sale area and other development benefits were obtained from the govt on the flase names. It has resulted in a financial loss of approximately Rs100 crore to the govt,” he added.“There is urgent need for a thorough, impartial and time-bound inquiry into the objections. A comprehensive investigation is needed into the eligibility of all slum dwellers in the project, documents submitted, sanctioned additional TDR, free-sale area and roles of the developer and govt officials involved,” said Kamble.Desai said due process was followed while listing SRA beneficiaries for the scheme and allocating the TDR. The minister said the urban development department would review information or documents given to prove the allegations. The govt would conduct a meeting regarding the issue highlighted. Other MLAs, including Shankar Jagtap, Yogesh Sagar, Ram Kadam and Vijay Wadettiwar, also raised matters regarding SRA schemes in various cities, including Mumbai.“Elected members should give the details, if any, about misappropriations in SRA projects to the department concerned. The information will be inspected,” added Desai.
