Noida: Several residents of Noida and Greater Noida have claimed revenue courts in the Dadri tehsil are repeatedly adjourning cases and scheduling irregular hearings, leading to prolonged pendency. One litigant, Sujeet Bhati from Chithera village, told TOI there was no hearing in his land registry dispute for the last six months. “Over the last six months, I was given a hearing date at least 20 times. However, every time on the day of the hearing, it was postponed and I was told the naib tehsildar was not available. I made rounds of the tehsil without any progress,” Bhati said.In a complaint submitted to the district magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, advocate and former president of the Dadri Bar Association, Rakesh Nagar, said cases related to mutation, undisputed mutation, inheritance registration, share determination and correction of clerical errors in land records were especially affected. He alleged hearings in the courts of the tehsildar and naib tehsildar were not conducted consistently, resulting in avoidable delays in their disposal.“As per government directives, any land disputes should be resolved within three months. Mutation cases should also be resolved within 35 days. But at Dadri, such cases have been pending for over four to five months,” the advocate told TOI. “Matters involving inheritance registration after the death of landowners are particularly affected, as families are unable to secure timely entry of names and determination of shares in revenue records,” the complainant said. In his letter, he urged the district administration to review the functioning of the revenue courts and ensure that cases were heard and decided within a reasonable timeframe. However, Dadri SDM Anuj Nehra rejected the allegations. “All hearings are going on in the courts. Sometimes it happens that the tehsildar may be called to the Allahabad High Court but otherwise regular work is going on and the allegations are completely baseless,” she said.
