T’puram: A ‘No Drone Zone’ has been declared around all Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) campuses located in and around Thiruvananthapuram, as well as at the Ammonium Perchlorate Experimental Plant (APEP) in Aluva, Ernakulam. The restriction was issued in accordance with the orders issued by state govt.As per the notification, use of drones, lantern kites, remotely piloted aircraft and other unmanned aerial vehicles is strictly prohibited within a 2km radius of Isro facilities, including Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Thumba, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) at Valiyamala and Isro Inertial Systems Unit (IISU) at Vattiyoorkavu. The measure aims to ensure safety and security of Isro’s personnel, premises and sensitive operations.The public is requested to strictly adhere to the restriction. Any violation will be dealt with in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
