Hyderabad: Reacting to the remarks made by Congress MLA K Rajagopal Reddy, Telangana Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud said party discipline would be strictly maintained and that no one would be allowed to speak publicly against the party line.Earlier, Rajagopal Reddy had said that those who have come from other parties into Congress were dominating over the party loyalists and that the Congress govt should not work under the influence of Andhra contractors.Goud said the party would take the remarks seriously and that the high command was also taking note of them. “We understand Rajagopal Reddy’s anguish. He is a good friend,” Goud said, adding, “Party is the first priority”.On the state’s financial position, Goud blamed the previous BRS govt led by K Chandrashekar Rao for the state’s debts. He said several bills had been pending since 2018 and claimed that the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund releases began only after the Congress came to power.Referring to former BRS leader Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Goud said that Pocharam should understand the “sin” committed by KCR of leaving behind a huge debt. He added that it would not be possible to satisfy everyone because the state’s debts were a constraint.Goud also highlighted the state govt’s programme of supplying fine rice, saying that such a programme was not being implemented anywhere else in the country. On coordination between the party and the govt, Goud said the Congress would move forward with better coordination and that the party would also have a role in major decisions of the govt.He alleged that the BRS was carrying out a campaign against deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka. Goud said only capable persons would be given positions and indicated that, in the upcoming chairperson appointments, 60 per cent of positions would go to seniors and 40 per cent to the remaining sections in the party.
