BENGALURU: Bengaluru City Police issued a detailed advisory urging residents to maintain order and avoid any form of disruptive celebrations after the IPL 2026 final on May 31, warning against crackers, road rallies and public disturbances. With Royal Challengers Bengaluru winning the final of the TATA IPL 2026, police said strict compliance with safety norms is mandatory as the result is announced, stressing that public peace and law and order remain a shared responsibility. The advisory clearly prohibits bursting crackers, organising road celebrations, creating disturbances, or engaging in fights in public spaces. It also bars bike rallies, overspeeding, stunt riding, misuse of horns and any kind of road blockades.Authorities have also placed restrictions on public viewing arrangements. LED screens facing roads cannot be installed without prior permission, and existing LED walls have been directed not to broadcast the match. Screens outside malls, pubs and commercial establishments must not be positioned in a way that allows public viewing from roads or open areas. The police further cautioned against consuming alcohol in public places, engaging in unruly behaviour, or provoking others through insults or confrontations during post-match reactions. In addition, citizens have been warned against sharing provocative, hateful or rumour-based content on social media, with officials stating that fans of any team should not be provoked under the pretext of match results. The advisory comes amid heightened sensitivity following the tragic stampede near Chinnaswamy Stadium in June 2025 during RCB victory celebrations, which claimed 11 lives and left several injured. The final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which has a capacity of over 1.3 lakh spectators.(With PTI inputs)
