Jammu, Feb 07: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Saturday said there will be no compromise on the quality of macadamisation works and no payment is released to the contractors in case of use of sub-standard material.

Choudhary said this while replying to a question raised by Legislator Mubarik Gul in the Legislative Assembly. He said strict instructions have been given to the officers at district level for taking local legislators on board before formulation of macadamization plans or road projects.

The Deputy CM further informed that 344.32 kilometre of road length has been macadamised black- topped across J&K during 2025-26.

“The macadamisation of roads in various constituencies during the ensuing financial year under the various sectors/schemes shall be prepared once the ceiling is received from the Finance Department,” he said

Legislator Chander Prakash Ganga raised supplementary question on the subject.
