Panaji: A Mapusa court has rejected anticipatory bail to Birch by Romeo Lane owners Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra in the no-objection certificate (NOC) forgery case registered at the Mapusa police station. The brothers were accused of using a fake NOC from the Candolim health centre to run the nightclub. The Mapusa police had registered a separate FIR on the complaint of the health officer of the Candolim primary health centre, which stated that authorised persons of Birch impersonated him, forged his signature, and made a forged entry in the register to obtain a health NOC that was then used to obtain an excise licence for the club.An order on the brothers’ regular bail application in connection with the fire at the nightclub has been reserved for April 1. They had sought bail again after the court rejected their earlier bail applications and after the chargesheet in the case was filed.
