In a transformative moment for Bihar’s political arena, Nitin Nabin, Upendra Kushwaha, and Ramnath Thakur took their oaths as newly minted Rajya Sabha members. Nabin, who has recently climbed to the role of BJP national president, was greeted with enthusiastic applause.

Patna: BJP national president Nitin Nabin, party member Shivesh Ram, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha and JD(U) leader and Union minister of state Ramnath Thakur from Bihar took oath as Rajya Sabha members on Thursday.Union home minister Amit Shah, along with BJP MPs, welcomed Nitin at Parliament. Later, Union minister and leader of the Rajya Sabha J P Nadda seated him in the chamber of the BJP national president located within Parliament House. BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi accompanied him.

Nitin has represented Bankipur and erstwhile Patna Central assembly constituencies before the BJP made him the party national president and elected him to the Rajya Sabha, along with former CM Nitish Kumar, former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha and two other NDA nominees from Bihar.Nitish had already taken the oath on April 10 as he had to hand over the reins of Bihar to BJP’s Samrat Choudhary, who took oath as the CM on Wednesday.Congratulating Nitin on the occasion, CM Samrat said, “Enriched by struggle, dedication, and service, your life stands as an inspiring journey. Rising from a humble background, the heights you have attained—through your indomitable hard work, unwavering perseverance, and steadfast resolve to serve the public — are a matter of immense pride for every Bihari. I have full confidence that you will discharge this new responsibility in the Rajya Sabha with the very same dedication, integrity, and commitment for which you have always been renowned. May this new chapter of your service to the nation be adorned with fresh successes and greater heights.”Sharing his thoughts after taking the oath, Nitin stated he would strongly champion the voice of Bihar in the House and work with complete sincerity and dedication towards achieving the goal of a “Developed India” (Viksit Bharat).Kushwaha thanked PM Narendra Modi, home minister Shah, former CM Nitish Kumar, BJP national president Nitin as well as the leaders and dedicated workers of the RLM and NDA, and the people of Bihar. “I pledge to work ceaselessly to ensure ‘education, livelihood, healthcare, irrigation, redressal, and action’ in Bihar, while vociferously raising every voice in the House to help realize the PM’s vision of building a ‘Developed India’ and a ‘Developed Bihar’,” he said.
