Cuddalore: NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise NLC India Limited (NLCIL), has bagged an order from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) to set up a 900 MW solar power project in Gujarat.The project was awarded to NIRL through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. GUVNL will procure the power generated from the solar facility. This major project significantly expands NIRL’s renewable portfolio as the company accelerates its trajectory toward achieving 10 GW or more in renewable energy capacity by 2030.Incorporated on June 14, 2023, NIRL manages NLCIL’s clean energy assets. The company currently operates an aggregate installed capacity of 1,785 MW spanning solar, wind, rooftop solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), with active operational assets in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and the Andaman Islands.With this new allocation in Gujarat, NIRL continues to expand its green energy footprint across multiple states, including Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab.
