A Nigerian national died in police custody in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden on Sunday, police said.According to police he was riding a scooter on the wrong side of the road towards Rajouri Garden Metro Station. Suspecting foul play, cops attempted to stop him.“The man rammed his scooter into a police motorcycle, fell on the road, and then fled on foot. He was chased and apprehended by the team,” police said.The man was taken to the Special Staff office near Tagore Garden. Police said he did not cooperate and complained of feeling unwell, following which he was immediately taken to Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Khyala. However, doctors declared him “brought dead.”The deceased has been identified as Christian Eze Promise.Police said intimation of the incident has been sent to the NHRC, Ministry of External Affairs, and the High Commission of Nigeria.
