NHL’s Boston Bruins are reportedly targeting to bolster their defense line-up by including three elite defenseman on their team. Speculations are doing the rounds that the club is planning to acquire three top defensemen from several other NHL teams. Earlier, the club targeted to acquire Rasmus Andersson. However, they missed out on the player as he was later acquired by the Vegas Golden Knights from the Calgary Flames.According to reports by The Hockey News, they are targeting potential players like Justin Faulk, Braden Schneider, and Zach Whitecloud to boost their blue line. Justin Faulk of the St. Louis Blues tops the list as a proven top-four option, boasting 11 goals, 19 assists, and 30 points in 52 games this season. It is expected that the defenseman would be a nice fit on the second pairing and power play if acquired.
Apart from Faulk, Zach Whitecloud of the Calgary Flames is another potential candidate. According to reports, Whitecloud has a $2.75 million cap hit until the end of the 2027-28 season. Whitecloud has played in 55 games this season, where he has recorded two goals, eight assists, 10 points, and 86 hits.
