Nagpur: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Wednesday installed direction boards on the elevated rotary at Ashok Chowk to clear confusion among motorists using the newly opened Indora-Dighori flyover.The 9km North-South corridor has eased traffic movement across several busy stretches. However, motorists struggled to identify the exits due to the absence of adequate direction boards at key interchanges, particularly the elevated rotary. The situation also resulted in traffic congestion as vehicles slowed down or changed lanes abruptly while attempting to identify their routes.TOI was the first to report the issue. DCP Traffic Aditya Mirkhelkar directed NHAI to install appropriate signage at the rotary and other locations where required.Officials said additional boards would be put up at other locations if required based on traffic movement and difficulties faced by motorists.The elevated rotary forms an important part of the 4-km Kamal Chowk-Reshimbagh section of the corridor. The interchange is designed to distribute traffic towards multiple destinations and has three landings and ascending ramps at Ashok Square. The ramps provide connectivity towards Nandanvan, Ganeshpeth bus stand and Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), while the main elevated corridor continues towards Reshimbagh Square.
