New Delhi: A newborn child was allegedly kidnapped from a hospital’s labour room in Rohini on Tuesday by an unidentified woman who befriended the mother and fled with the baby. Police said a PCR call was received around 9 am reporting the kidnapping of a newborn from a hospital in Sector 6, Rohini. The child’s mother, a resident of Narela, told police she had been admitted to the hospital on Feb 12 and delivered a baby boy two days later.During her stay in the labour ward, an unknown woman repeatedly visited her and gradually gained her trust, investigators said, adding that around 5 am, the woman allegedly took the newborn on the pretext of feeding him milk. When the mother woke up around 8 am, both were missing. “The child was found on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway with two people,” said additional CP (Rohini) Rajeev Ranjan. The two accused, identified as Ahibaran Saxena and a 40-year-old woman, were arrested.
