Chatra: A newborn boy was found dead in a well in Bany village under Giddhaur police station limits of the district on Tuesday. Locals had gathered around the well for a wedding ritual in the morning when they spotted the body of the infant floating and informed the police.Giddhaur police station officer-in-charge Shiva Yadav said the body recovered and sent for postmortem examination. A case was also registered against unknown persons. “We are questioning local residents to ascertain who abandoned the newborn and under what circumstances,” he said.
