T’puram: Chief minister’s office (CMO) has announced a new arrangement for members of the public seeking to meet chief minister V D Satheesan at the Secretariat, with fixed visiting hours introduced for three days a week.The CM will be available to meet visitors at the Secretariat from 3-5.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, except on public holidays.On these days, the CM will first meet senior citizens, persons with disabilities and those with physical ailments directly at the grievance redressal cell on the Secretariat premises. He will meet other visitors at his office after completing these meetings.People who have already obtained an appointment can also reach the CM’s office during the designated hours to meet him. The new arrangement will come into effect from Wednesday.CMO said the changes were aimed at enabling people arriving from other districts to meet the CM and submit their grievances more quickly and at avoiding overcrowding.The grievance redressal cell will also remain open for the public to submit complaints directly on days when the CM is not present at the Secretariat. Officials specially assigned for the purpose will receive complaints from the public between 3pm and 5pm on those days.
