NEW DELHI: New Delhi metro station has now also been closed until further instructions, with no interchange facility available at the station, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in its latest update on Friday. Earlier in the day, the DMRC had announced that 17 metro stations across the national capital would remain closed for entry and exit from 7.30 am until further instructions due to “security reasons”. With the latest advisory, 18 stations are now affected. The affected stations are:

- Lok Kalyan Marg
- Rajiv Chowk
- Patel Chowk
- Ramakrishna Ashram Marg
- Barakhambha Road
- Supreme Court
- Seva Teerth
- Janpath
- Mandi House
- Central Secretariat
- ITO
- Delhi Gate
- Indraprastha
- Khan Market
- Jor Bagh
- Shivaji Stadium
- Jhandewalan
The closures come amid heightened security in central Delhi during the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest. DMRC has advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly, adding that normal operations at the affected stations will resume only after further instructions.
