Vadodara: Tourists visiting the Statue of Unity (SOU) in Ekta Nagar—the world’s tallest statue—will now be able to enjoy a luxury cruise on the Narmada river. A new cruise that can accommodate 600 passengers will soon welcome tourists after complying with all prescribed safety standards and obtaining necessary approvals from the concerned authorities.The SOU already operates a 200-passenger cruise that offers tourists a scenic view of the region’s natural beauty and a grand view of the statue along with a dining facility. With tourist footfall increasing, the larger and more modern cruise has been introduced to meet the growing demand.The cruise will also host social, cultural, corporate events, birthday celebrations and private functions. The new 30-metre-long cruise has also been equipped with decorative lighting and modern amenities.
