Nesco Limited on Wednesday said there was no lapse or negligence on its part or by its employees in connection with the recent incident at its exhibition and events venue, even as authorities continue to investigate the matter.

“We are extending our full cooperation to the investigating authorities and are providing all necessary assistance to support a comprehensive and timely inquiry,” they said in their exchange filing.

In a disclosure to stock exchanges, the company said it is fully cooperating with the investigating agencies and extending all necessary assistance to support a comprehensive and timely inquiry. Nesco added that the safety and well-being of visitors to its premises remain of paramount importance.

“Our heartfelt condolences are with the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives, and we sincerely hope for the recovery of the individual currently undergoing treatment,” the company said.

Nesco said it has, at all times, complied with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and prescribed protocols governing events hosted at its venue. Adequate safety and security arrangements were put in place for the event in line with such requirements, it added .

The company also reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards the possession, use or distribution of illegal substances within its premises. According to Nesco, all attendees are subject to clearly defined entry conditions and on-ground protocols, which expressly prohibit such conduct and place responsibility for compliance on individuals.

Addressing concerns around employee conduct, the company said there had been no wrongdoing by its employees in relation to the incident. “Our employees, Sunny Vinod Jain and Balakrishnan Balaram, have discharged their responsibilities in accordance with established procedures,” the statement said, adding that the company has full confidence that the ongoing investigation will establish the same.

As the matter is under investigation, Nesco said it would refrain from making further comments at this stage but remains committed to ensuring that all events hosted at its venue meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.
