Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday urged the youths of Goa to join the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop the country. He said Goan youths did not join the NEET agitation, which was organised by people from outside the state, and appealed to the youths not to join any such agitation in future.“Outsiders have come to Goa and tried to mislead the youth of Goa over the NEET issue but youths and parents have not joined such agitation and I urged Goans not to join such agitations. We have to fight for our rights and we are educated people.”Reacting to Modi’s video on NEET agitation, Sawant said that the PM’s response once again reflects the values that define true leadership.Sawant said that despite being subjected to abusive and obscene language during recent protests, Modi chose not anger but compassion. Sawant said that it is the duty of teachers and parents to advise children not to commit mistakes.The CM expressed concern for the young people involved, believing they have been misguided, and appealed to the nation to guide them with patience, empathy, and understanding rather than hatred.“I appeal to the youths of Goa to reject abusive language, misinformation, and negativity. Let us uphold the values of respectful dialogue, responsible citizenship, and constructive participation in democracy,” Sawant said.He said, let us channel them towards innovation, nation-building, and the shared vision of a Viksit Goa and Viksit Bharat, rather than allowing them to be diverted by divisive narratives.
