Gurgaon: Nearly a month after a two-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a car in Sector 69, police Tuesday registered a case against the driver for allegedly driving rashly and negligently and causing injuries to the child.Police said that the father of the victim lodged a complaint Tuesday as he was busy with the treatment of his son.The accident took place around 6.30pm on Sept 3, when Ayansh was playing in a lane outside his house. According to Yogendra, father of the victim, a Maruti WagonR cab bearing registration number HR38AK6639 allegedly hit the child. Ayansh fell between the car’s two front wheels and sustained injuries.Yogendra, a daily wager, took his son to Swastik Hospital in Sector 57 for treatment. The child was later discharged and returned home. “My son was playing outside our house and the cab driver was speeding and didn’t bother to slow down in the residential area. He ran over my kid from the front following which he had to undergo face surgery. We were fortunate that he survived. We nabbed the driver, Arun, the same day but as we had to rush to the hospital, he went away. Now I have lodged a complaint with the police and they have registered a complaint,” Yogendra told TOI.According to police, information about the injured child being admitted to the hospital was received on Sept 5. Head constable Satish Kumar visited the hospital on Sept 6 and obtained the child’s medico-legal case and medical report. The doctor certified the child as fit to give a statement.At the hospital, Yogendra told police that he would submit his complaint after his son’s treatment was completed. He subsequently approached Badshahpur police station and submitted the written complaint on Sept 29.After examining the complaint and medical documents, police registered a case under sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. ASI Anil Kumar has been assigned the investigation.
