Ranchi: A six-hour-long search operation by a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team failed to trace the body of Buland Ansari (40), an employee of the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha, who is suspected to have drowned in Dhurwa Dam.Nagri police station-in charge Pranav Roy said Ansari, a resident of Doranda, did not return home after work on Wednesday. Family members looking for him found Ansari’s car and other belongings near Dhurwa Dam and alerted the police. Subsequently, a NDRF team was called in for a search.“The rescue team conducted a six-hour-long search operation in the dam on Thursday but could not locate Ansari. Preliminary investigation suggested that Ansari may have died by suicide, though the exact circumstances would be known only after a detailed investigation,” Roy said.Roy said the search operation was called off for the day and would resume on Friday.
