New Delhi: In a first for any govt school in Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) opened an AR & VR Lab at Navyug School in Sarojini Nagar Friday.The place can be accessed by students of classes VI to X and used as a learning centre to connect with emerging technologies and make subjects more engaging, practical and effective.An AR & VR lab is a dedicated space featuring augmented and virtual reality hardware, software, and tools used to create immersive educational, research, and industrial experiences.NDMC vice chairperson Kuljeet Chahal said that the lab, to be known as ‘Viksit Bharat Anubhavshala’, is equipped with specially curated digital content covering more than 70 CBSE curricular and co-curricular topics.“Here, students will be able to understand technologies such as AI, Quantum Computing, Robotics, Space Science and Nanotechnology. Based on response, we will work to establish facility in other schools also. While students will understand how AI models are developed and how they function, AI-enabled learning systems will make the learning experience more engaging, interactive, personalised and effective,” he said.NDMC also plans to establish similar labs where students or children not studying in their schools can also come and access modern equipment.
