Patna: BJP and JD(U) on Tuesday questioned the purpose of the RJD’s proposed Lok Bhavan march in Patna on Wednesday, alleging that the agitation was aimed less at students’ issues and more at the political survival of Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi described the march as a “save political career march”, alleging that Tejashwi was trying to regain political relevance and contain discontent within the RJD.“Tejashwi is attempting to revive his political standing by organising a march in the name of student interests. He should first explain where he was when students were agitating for their demands,” Saraogi said.JD(U) national working president and MP Sanjay Kumar Jha accused Tejashwi of doing “part-time politics”, saying he was not even in the country when the issue of students and the alleged paper leak emerged.Former RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari, who recently joined BJP, claimed that 15-16 of the RJD’s 25 MLAs were likely to split from the party.Jha said the Bihar govt had acted promptly in the Siwan AK-47 incident, while Saraogi said the Centre and state govt had acted on students’ demands and were working to provide employment and strengthen education.
