Kanpur: Congress Rajya Sabha member Imran Pratapgarhi on Sunday claimed that education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had resigned under pressure from students and that the central govt’s exit was certain in the coming period.Imran, who chaired the All India Congress Committee Minority Department meeting, was addressing a seminar titled ‘Alpsankhyakon ka Sankalp, Congress Hi Vikalp’ in Shastri Nagar here on Sunday.He said the govt had not sought Pradhan’s resignation willingly, but had done so after students across the country exerted pressure.He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, frightened by the student movement, was now speaking the language of Gen Z, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had always stood with students and young people.Accusing BJP of promoting the politics of hatred, Imran said public awareness about the politics pursued over the past 10 years had increased. He said minorities were the first to suffer whenever the Constitution was weakened.He said Congress would continue to fight for the rights of students, young people and minorities.
