Bokaro: Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Asha Lakra, arrived in Bokaro on Friday to review issues related to Scheduled Tribe communities. She was welcomed at the circuit house by deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha and deputy development commissioner Shatabdi Majumdar.Lakra sought detailed information about a few cases, including land acquisition of tribal people’s lands by public sector undertakings and compensation in Bermo, and asked officials to present a comprehensive report outlining the facts so far.Lakra directed the departments to conduct a thorough and impartial inquiry into the matter. She instructed officials to examine all aspects of the case carefully and ensure that appropriate action was taken based on the findings so that the aggrieved parties received justice.“The visit formed part of the commission’s efforts to monitor the implementation of safeguards and address grievances concerning tribal communities in the region,” said Lakra.
