Prayagraj: With the holy month of Shrawan underway, devotees from Prayagraj and adjoining areas planning to visit major Jyotirlingas, including Baba Mahakal, Somnath and Baba Baidyanath Dham, can now travel by special trains announced by the railways. The services have been planned to facilitate pilgrims, with reserved seats available on the special trains operated by North Central Railways (NCR).For devotees travelling to Ujjain, a biweekly special train (04169/04170) will operate between Subedarganj and Indore till Sept 29. The train will leave Subedarganj at 5 am every Monday and Friday and reach Ujjain at 3.10 am the next day.For pilgrims heading to Somnath and Dwarka in Gujarat, the Prayagraj-Veraval special train (04173/04174) will make eight trips between Aug 6 and Sept 25. Train 04173 will depart Prayagraj Junction at 10.10 am every Thursday and reach Veraval at 6.15 pm the following day. On the return journey, train 04174 will leave Veraval at 10 pm every Friday and reach Prayagraj at 5.50 am on Sunday.NCR has also extended the operations of the Jhansi-Asansol special train (04185/04186) for devotees travelling to Deoghar’s Baba Baidyanath Dham. The service will operate twice a week between July 29 and Aug 31.Chief Public Relations Officer, NCR, Dr Shivam Sharma said passengers travelling to Deoghar can alight at Jasidih or Madhupur stations, both located on the Asansol route, and proceed directly to the famous pilgrimage town.
