Bokaro: Two men escaped with minor injuries after their car skidded off a road and plunged into a canal amid incessant rain here late Thursday. The incident took place on Tenughat-Bokaro canal road near Champi.Rohit Kumar (41) and Bablu Kumar (45) managed to jump out of the vehicle moments before the vehicle plunged into the canal. Residents of Tand Mohanpur in Jainamore, they were returning to their home from Champi after meeting their maternal uncle Ajay Mahto.They were admitted to Tenughat Sub-Divisional Hospital by the officers from the Tenughat police outpost (OP). “Both suffered minor injuries and are stable,” Bhajan Lal Mahto, the officer in-charge of Tenughat OP, said.Locals said incessant rain has left the road slippery at several spots. The driver lost control while negotiating the stretch, and the car began drifting towards the canal. Sensing danger, both jumped out before it fell into the water. Efforts were underway to retrieve the vehicle on Friday.
