Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has extended his birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi a day ahead of his 76th birthday. In a message shared on X, Sinha posted two throwback pictures with Modi and explained that he chose to send his greetings early so they would not get lost among the many messages expected on September 17. The veteran actor also wished the Prime Minister well-being, happiness, peace and a long life.

On Wednesday, Sinha took to X (formerly known as Twitter), and shared two throwback photographs featuring himself with Narendra Modi. Alongside the pictures, he penned a detailed birthday message explaining why he had decided to send his wishes a day in advance.He wrote, “Wishing you in advance before it gets lost in the flood of good well wishes tomorrow. How do you like the idea Sirji? Many happy returns of the day for our friend, friend of society, hon’ble PM @narendramodi. Narendra Modi turns 76 on September 17
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will celebrate his 76th birthday on September 17, 2026. He has been Prime Minister of India since May 2014 and is currently serving his third consecutive term. The Prime Minister’s official website records that he was sworn in for a third term on June 9, 2024. Over the years, his birthday has also been marked by public events and welfare and community-service activities organised by supporters and various organisations.
Shatrughan Sinha’s political journey
Shatrughan Sinha, a veteran actor and alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, entered politics in the 1990s. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and went on to serve as a Member of Parliament from Patna Sahib. He also served as a Union minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, holding portfolios including Health and Family Welfare and later Shipping. Sinha joined the Indian National Congress in 2019 before subsequently moving to the Trinamool Congress. He is currently the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Asansol in West Bengal, representing the All India Trinamool Congress. The 2026 West Bengal Assembly election results recorded 207 seats for the BJP and 80 for the TMC.

On the entertainment front, a documentary on Sinha’s life and career is reportedly nearing completion. Directed by Shashi Ranjan, the project is expected to chronicle his journey from veteran actor to political figure, with several prominent names from the film industry, including Rajinikanth and Salman Khan, reportedly contributing to the documentary. ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ editor Sanchari Das has also joined the project.
