NAMAKKAL: Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officers on Tuesday arrested a revenue inspector in Namakkal Municipal Corporation on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 20,000.A farmer from Chinnaayyampalayam approached revenue inspector K Shankar, 58, to transfer the ownership details of a house from his father’s name to his name in the corporation’s records. “Shankar asked for a bribe of Rs 20,000 to complete the task,” said a DVAC officer.The farmer filed a complaint with the Namakkal DVAC. DVAC officers laid a trap and caught Shankar red-handed while he was receiving a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the farmer.
