Hyderabad: The Nalgonda railway station is undergoing redevelopment at an estimated cost of ₹17 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). The station serves nearly 3,000 passengers every day and handles around 44 trains daily, including DEMU and MEMU services. It is a key transit hub for commuters travelling to Hyderabad, particularly Secunderabad, Kacheguda and Lingampally, for employment and business.The proposed redevelopment works include the interior renovation of the concourse, VIP lounge, waiting halls and toilets. The plan also includes the installation of Divyangjan-friendly facilities, new signage, modern furniture and façade improvements to enhance passenger convenience and improve the station’s aesthetics.Several works have already been completed, including platform shelters, the installation of lifts, platform surfacing, approach road development, parking facilities, improvements to the circulating area and the renovation of waiting halls. The remaining works, including the foot overbridge (FOB), façade improvements and Divyangjan-friendly facilities, are progressing expeditiously.
