Nagpur: The Nagpur University (NU) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with six industry and institutional partners, marking a significant step towards strengthening industry-academia collaboration during Vidarbha Advantage. The MoUs were formally executed at the office of the vice-chancellor, with three agreements set to benefit students of the university’s department of chemistry.The MoUs were signed in the presence of V-C Manali Kshirsagar, IQAC director Nandkishor Karade, training and placement officer Bhushan Mahajan, director, Prakash Itankar, along with senior faculty members including Vijay Khandal, Nishikant Raut, RM Jugade, Samit Mahure, and Vijay Tangde.

The agreements aim to facilitate student training, internships, skill development programmes, joint research initiatives, consultancy projects, and optimal utilisation of academic and industrial resources. It was also decided that experts from the partner firms can contribute as ‘Professors of Practice’ in accordance with Nagpur University norms, further strengthening industry-oriented teaching and practical exposure.

Interacting with representatives of the partnering firms, vice-chancellor Kshirsagar emphasised the need for effective, outcome-driven, and mutually beneficial implementation of the MoUs. She also provided guidance on aligning academic curricula with evolving industry requirements to enhance student employability.

University officials said these strategic collaborations are expected to significantly improve industry exposure, research opportunities, skill development, and employment prospects for NU students, while fostering long-term, meaningful partnerships between the University and key industry stakeholders across Vidarbha and beyond.
