Patna: The director of higher education, Bihar, N K Agrawal, on Wednesday took charge as the new officiating vice-chairman of the Bihar State Higher Education Council (BSHEC), following a notification issued by the state education department. The post had been lying vacant since the tenure of former vice-chairman Kameshwar Jha ended on September 22 last year.According to the government notification issued by the education department’s deputy secretary Ajit Kumar Singh, Agrawal has been authorised to officiate as BSHEC’s vice-chairman until a full-time appointment is made. He will hold the position in addition to his duties as director of higher education.
Agrawal, a faculty member of L N Mithila University, has earlier served as the academic advisor to the BSHEC.
